James E. "Jimmy" Davis, 82, of Little Mountain, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on March 4, 1940, in Newberry, and was a son of the late Mildred and James W. Davis. He resided in Little Mountain all his life.
He retired from the Federal Government after 34 years of service where he was a Federal Excess Property Manager for South Carolina and North Carolina. He once was a member of the Federal Executive Board, past Volunteer of the Little Mountain Fire Department, served in the United States Army and the National Guard, member of York Rite Body and Hejaz Shrine Temple, and was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #281 and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Judith, of Little Mountain; daughter, Lisa Yarborough of Pomaria; and granddaughter Leah Yarborough of Chapin. He enjoyed traveling with the Dutch Fork Travelers but most of all enjoyed going to the mountains with his family.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery by Reverend James Franklin Shealy. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Greenville (950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605) or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (P.O. Box 186, Little Mountain, SC 29075).
Active pallbearers will be Adam Anderson, Junior Anderson, Derek Bush, Edward Epting, John Daniel Frick, Arthur Jayroe, Perry Riley, and Dwain Wessinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Bailey, Mike Chapman, Donald Counts, Phil Livingston, Harry Longshore, Jack McGoven, Wayne Parker, and all the members of the Masonic Rite Lodge #281.
