James E. Altman, Sr.

James Edward Altman, Sr., 81, of Peak, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at his residence.

He was born on January 11, 1937, in Georgetown, he was the son of the late William Altman and Mable Conklin Altman Briggs. Mr. Altman was an electrician and in the property management business. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, a former member of the Mid Carolina Lions Club and a Mason. Mr. Altman had served in the Navy Reserves.

He is survived by sons, James E. Altman, Jr. of Ballentine, Raymond Altman of Edisto, John Altman of Peak; daughters, Bonner (Bill) Altman Lawrence of Edisto and Caroline Altman of Charleston; a sister, Clara Eleanor (Wayne) Witt of Rock Hill and grandchildren, Raylyn Altman and Elliott Altman and his fiancée, Courtney Amick. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Leora Hendrix Altman and siblings, William “Buddy” Altman, Marie Wyman and Shirley Anderson

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church in Peak by the Rev. Beverly Aurand. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, PO Box 9, Peak, SC 29122-0009.
