James T. Farr

James Thomas Farr, 77, of Little Mountain, widower of Veita Rae Lindler Farr, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, at White Oak Manor.

Born on July 21, 1934, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late John D. and Rosa Black Farr. He had worked for Kline Iron & Steel, Owen Steel, Corley Mills and Beal Lumber Company. He served in the S.C. National Guard and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by sons, James David (Carol) Farr and John Allen (Cindy) Farr; daughters, Frances M. Farr and Karen Rae (Jeff) Monroe; grandchildren, Roger Farr, Lynn Livingston, Nick Counts, Jesse Farr, Jenna Farr, Meredith Monroe and Madeline Monroe; step-grandchildren, Andrea Hubbard and Gary Bass and great-grandchildren, Raelyn Livingston, Bryson Counts and Emily Pennington.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Fred Suhr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
