Jane C. Jones

Jane Cannon Jones, 76, of Newberry, died Monday, October 28, 2013, at Self Regional Hospital.

Born on May 19, 1937, in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Henry O. and Geneva Martin Cannon. She was retired from Damon International and was a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Morris L. Jones; sons, Ricky (Dana) Jones of Newberry and Ronnie Jones (Darrah Chick) of Prosperity; a sister, Linda C. (Ray) Graham of Pomaria; grandchildren, Emily and Kaitlyn Jones and Seth Chick.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Mims. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Jones, 1309 Ebenezer Road and will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Summer Memorial Lutheran Church Organ Fund or General Fund, 1609 Milligan Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Jones, Steve Jones, Jeff Martin, Melvin Metts, Jimmy Richter and John Swieringa.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred and Elizabeth Pugh, Margaret Mozee, Daisy Morris and Tammy Doke.
