Jane Pitts

Jane Elizabeth Pitts, 42, of Newberry, died Monday, May 4, 2020 at her residence.

Born on May 24, 1977 in Newberry, she was the daughter of Linda Hawkins Pitts and the late John William “J.W.” Pitts, Jr. She graduated with perfect attendance from Mid Carolina High School and was also a graduate of Newberry College. She was the computer lab teacher at Gallman Elementary and was member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Miss Pitts is survived by her mother, Linda H. Pitts; brothers, Billy (Charlene) Pitts, Russell (Dona) Pitts, Linn (Amy) Pitts and Jeff Pitts; sister-in-law, Betty Cumalander; nephew and nieces, Evan (Rebecca) Pitts, Nikki Dominick, Mallory Pitts, Parker Pitts, Dori Pitts, Lily Pitts and Jonah Pitts; great-nephews, Jude Pitts and Silas Pitts and special friend, Bobby Cotney.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jason Schafer. The family ask that those desiring to attend please adhere to the Covid-19 social distancing requirements and remain six feet apart or remain in your vehicles. Memorials may be made to the St. Luke's Lutheran Church Playground Fund, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to the Boys and Girls Club, 255 Hawkins Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Jane fought a long hard fight for three years, but she quickly learned “No One Fights Alone” as she had a strong support group of family and friends to help her make the journey easier.
