Janice Taylor York, 62, of Newberry, joined her beloved husband, Alvin Kenneth York, in eternal life on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Heritage at Lowman.
Born on October 20, 1948, in Newberry, she was a daughter of Margaret Frye Taylor and the late Bobby Ray Taylor. She was formerly employed by Fluor Daniel, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Department and was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother, Margaret Taylor, are her sons, Ken (Tina) York and Shannon (Missy) York both of Newberry and Garrett (Misty) York of Chapin; a sister, Brenda (Steve) Long of Prosperity; grandchildren, Kenton, Justin, Tiara, Charlie, Kylie, Landen, Wesley, Nicholas and Sydney; nephews, William Steven Long, Jr. of Carrollton, VA and Bobby J. Long of St. Paul, MN.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. The family will be at the home of Margaret Taylor, 14874 SC Highway 121, Newberry and they will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
