Janie Nichols

Janie Adams Nichols, 101, widow of Frank E. Nichols, of Newberry, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at White Oak Manor.

Born on February 28, 1920, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Carrie Cromer Adams. She had worked at the Outlet Shoe Store and was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She loved receiving cards and letters from family and friends.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by her son, Kent and his wife, Sup “Lee” Nichols of Newberry. She was predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
