Janie Satterwhite

Janie Elizabeth Shealy Satterwhite, 87, of Newberry, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on June 22, 1924, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late David Leroy and Ida Mae Swittenberg Shealy. Mrs. Satterwhite was retired from Greenwood Mills. She was a member of Bush River Baptist Church where she was a member of the Martha Franks Sunday School Class, the WMU, Joyful Hearts and formerly was in the church choir, taught GA’s and Sunday school.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard Earl Satterwhite and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William Leroy Shealy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Bush River Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian Preston. Entombment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Dennis, 2394 SC Highway 560, Kinards, SC. Memorials may be made to Bush River Baptist Church, 8936 Bush River Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
