Master Deputy Janna Lane Longshore, 29, of Whitmire, died Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the Lexington Medical Center.

Born on November 1, 1992, in Columbia, she was the daughter of Cherrie Franklin Longshore and the late Wilmer Michael Longshore.  She was a 2016 graduate of the SC Criminal Justice Academy and a 2021 graduate of Newberry College.  She was a Master Deputy with the Newberry County Sheriff’s office.

Janna is survived by her mother, Cherrie Longshore (Steve Dominick) of Newberry; a brother, Austin Michael Longshore (Kristian) of Virginia Beach, VA; her fiancé, Chris Keller of Whitmire; nieces, Charlotte Longshore and Claire Longshore and her fiancé’s children, Crue Keller and Gauge Keller.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Wiles Chapel on the campus of Newberry College. Burial with police honors will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Active pallbearers will be Lt. Shawn Carnes, Lt. Danny Claytor, Dep. Amanda Young, Dep. Samantha Navarrete, Dep. Chase Goodwin and Sgt. Corey Cook.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Law Enforcement Officers.
