Jason Brooks

Jason Lamar Brooks, 34, of Pomaria, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at his residence.

Born on September 20, 1976, in Newberry, he was a son of Karen Bagwell Crapps and the late James Lamar Brooks.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Carruthers Brooks; a daughter, Madison Lynn Brooks; his mother and step-father, Karen and Harley Crapps of Newberry; a sister, LeAnne McConnell of Clayton, GA; a step-brother, Terry Crapps of Newberry; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Dorothy Bagwell of Prosperity; paternal grandmother, Jewel Brooks of Newberry; aunts, Sharon (Bobby) Bannister, Donna (Steve) Morse and Angela (Danny) Goings; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Donna Lathrop of Pomaria; sisters-in-law, Stacy (J.T.) Graham, Sebrina (Hiro) Shimoda and Samantha Nobles and twelve nieces and nephews. Jason was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Rev. Hershel Brooks.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Gaius Baker and Rev. Sanford Jones. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be applied to his funeral expenses c/o McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
