Jason Howard Cohen, 37, resident of Atlanta, formerly of Greenwood, died April 9, 2013 at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born October 8, 1975, in Newberry, he was a son of Howard and Donna H. Cohen. He was a 1993 graduate of Greenwood High School and Piedmont Technical College with an Associate Degree in Engineering Graphics Technology. Having made his home in Atlanta since 1998, he was formerly employed by Window Media as the Human Resource Manager. He was a proud volunteer of Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
He was a member of Coronaca Baptist Church and was formerly active with his neighborhood home association.
His quick wit and charming personality made him a bright light in this world. He truly loved his family and friends and living life to the fullest. To have known Jason was to love him. He will be greatly missed.
Jason is survived by his companion, Patrick Malone of Atlanta, his parents of Greenwood, Howard and Donna H. Cohen; a sister, Amy (Jeff) Lawson of Ninety Six; a brother, Nick Cohen of Greenwood; his grandmother, Dot Sutton of Newberry; his grandfather, Fred Hawkins of Greenwood; three nephews, he adored, Brady, Evan and Colton; his four-legged children, Cole and Bailey; and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services and celebration of his life will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Polatty and Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating.
The family is at the home of his parents at 143 Valley Road in Spring Valley Subdivision and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 4 Sunday afternoon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jason's memory to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, c/o 1365-C Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA, 30308.
