Mr. Jerry Laine Richardson, beloved husband to Carolyn Leitzsey Richardson, entered the Church Triumphant while at home on November 29th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 7th, 1939 in Pomaria, SC to the late Mr. Arthur Pearl and Mrs. Clara Boland Richardson. He served in the South Carolina National Guard for eight years. In his career, he worked at the South Carolina Tax Commission retiring as an Assistant Director. Jerry was a charter member of the Pomaria Fire Department and served the community for many years.

Jerry was President of the South Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission as well as serving in various other positions. He was chosen as Lutheran Man of the Year for South Carolina in 1991. Serving as the chair of the American Missions committee, he helped promote God’s vision through the growth of congregations in South Carolina.

Jerry enjoyed spending time in God’s creation performing yard work and riding through the woods. As a long-time RV camper, he enjoyed camping with family and friends, especially in Maggie Valley, NC.

He inspired his family, his church, and the larger Christian community through his love and faithfulness in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Risen Lord.
