Francis Gerald “Jerry” Satterwhite, 82, of Sun City Center, Florida, died Friday, May 10, 2024.

Born on January 12, 1942 in Joanna, he was a son of the late Francis Haynard and Dorothy Longshore Satterwhite. He was a 1960 graduate of Newberry High School and was a graduate of the New England Institute of Embalming. Jerry was a retired funeral director and embalmer with Johnston Funeral Home in Milton, Massachusetts where he served families for over 30 years. After retirement, Jerry moved back to Newberry for a number of years, where he was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and worked part time at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. He and his wife, Jeanne later moved to Sun City Center, Florida. He enjoyed playing in Men's Softball leagues and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Jerry was a practical jokester and was known for his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Satterwhite; a son, Francis Gregory “Greg” Satterwhite and his wife Lisa of Hanover, Massachusetts; a daughter, Lisa Satterwhite Bell of Irvine, California; a sister, Judy Satterwhite Griffith of Lexington; a brother, Michael Satterwhite and his wife Patsy of Milledgeville, Georgia; and a granddaughter, Alexandra Satterwhite.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
