J.F. "Red" Wessinger

Jacob Frank “Red” Wessinger, 78, of Prosperity, widower of Elizabeth Jane Wessinger, died Sunday, August 31, 2014.

Born on May 26, 1936, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Howard and Pauline Bowers Wessinger. He was retired from Clinton Mills and was a farmer. Mr. Wessinger was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a sister, Gerealdine (Don) Rabon of Blythewood; stepsons, Charles Mace, Ray Mace and Lewis Mace all of Prosperity; stepdaughters, Ann Duarte of Atlanta, GA and Nancy Sanders of Prosperity; a niece and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.
