Joe Usry

Joe Robert Usry, 84, of Prosperity, widower of Donna Bradham Usry, died Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his residence.

Born on May 12, 1934 in Edinburg, MS, he was a son of the late Will Robert and Ophelia Virginia Sistrunk Usry. He was a building contractor and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Joe loved the outdoors and fishing.

He is survived by step-daughters, Becky Boozer and Jenni (Clint) Shealy both of Prosperity; sons, Daryl Usry and David (KaSandra) Usry both of Moss Point, MS and Bobby Usry of Pensacola, FL; daughters, Joan (Chuck) Foss of Mt. Judea, AR and Cindy (Ivan) Alexander of Gauiter, MS; a sister, Uba Dooley of South Haven, MS; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Mike Usry, a grandson and his siblings, Cloteal McLauchlin, Virginia Golden, Mary Lavinia Blair, Claudine Rollins, Melba Jean Reeves, Willie Dee Usry, Quimba Usry, Cozell Usry and John Usry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 -12:45 pm Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Nativity Fund of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to the Food Pantry of Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be John Roberts, Shea Bedenbaugh, Ken Suggs, Rod Deaton, Hunter Delesandro, Tim Woods and Joey Foss.
