John B. Shealy

John Bunyon Shealy, 85, of Prosperity, widower of Mamie Ella Sease Shealy, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on November 19, 1928, in Leesville, he was the son of the late Bunyon Addison Wayne and Cora Adelle Rish Shealy. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mr. Shealy worked for MEPCO Electric and was a farmer.

He is survived by sons, Leonard Wayne (Pam) Shealy of Chapin and Michael James (Cindy) Shealy of Prosperity; daughters, Cindy Shealy (Donald) Huyck and Seasee Shealy Williams both of Prosperity; sisters, Christine Wicker of Pomaria and Suda Mae Suber of Chapin; grandchildren, Melissa Angely, Kristin Ruff, Jennifer Shealy, Elizabeth Shealy, Donnie Huyck, Chris Huyck, Melody Leitzsey, Shelli Lister and Marissa Lister and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 22, 2014, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Restoration Fund, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Shealy, James Chapman, Donnie Huyck, Chris Huyck, Jed Ruff and Chuck Leitzsey.
