John Boozer

A memorial service for John Stanley Boozer, 61, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church, Prosperity SC. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Boozer died Saturday, February 26, 2011. Born September 2, 1949 in Prosperity SC, he was the son of Doris Cook Boozer and the late E. LeRoy Boozer. He was a 1967 graduate of Mid-Carolina High School and a 1971 graduate of Newberry College. He was a retired social worker from Aiken County DSS. He was a member of Prosperity Masonic Lodge #115 AFM.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Cheryl Sanders Boozer; daughters, Cheri B. Jackson and Allison N. Boozer; granddaughters, Avian N. Jackson, Skyla D. Boozer, and Creigan S. Boozer; brother, James “Jimmy” Boozer (Margaret); and sister, Debra B. Morris (Wayne); brother-in-law, John F. Sanders (Ginger); sister-in-law, Rosemary S. Vriesema (Bill); father-in-law, Clarence F. Sanders.

He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Gloria B. and Tommy Bennett; mother-in-law, Johnnie H. Sanders; brother-in-law, Phillip D. Sanders; and a nephew, J. Darren Boozer.

Memorials may be made to Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church (Improvement Fund or Bereavement Fund), 3074 Bachman Chapel Ch Rd, Prosperity SC 29127.

Stanley willed his body to science to the USC School of Medicine, Columbia SC.
