John C. Billingsley, Jr.

John Cecil Billingsley, Jr., 73, of Silverstreet, widower of Mary Duvall Billingsley, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Mississippi, he was a son of the late John C. Billingsley, Sr. and Wava Shanks Billingsley.  He served in law enforcement for many years and was a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a step-son, Jimmy Bundrick of Silverstreet; a step-grandson, Michael Bundrick of Newberry;a number of cousins and step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step-son, Billy Wayne Bundrick, and a step-grandson, Vernon Bundrick.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, April 18, 2016 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ken Carter. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to New Chapel United Methodist Church, 133 New Chapel Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108 or to a charity of one's choice.
