John Lomas Lindler, Jr. 85, of Prosperity died June 21, 2009 at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital.
Born in Peak, on February 4, 1924 he was a son of the late John Lomas, Sr. and Lila Stoudemire Lindler. Mr. Lindler was retired from Kendall Company, Oakland Plant and was a World War II Marine veteran. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Louise Shealy Lindler; a daughter, Pamela “Pam” DeHart; sisters, Margaret Whorton, Martha Jo Mahaffey, Sue Grant, Mabel Cain, and Annie Laurie Graham; brothers, William Howard Lindler, Phillip Lindler, and Robert Lindler; grandchildren, Michael (Tamra) Taylor and Brett (Jessica) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Raegan Taylor and Hunter Taylor. Mr. Lindler was predeceased by a brother, Mack Lindler
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
