John "J.P." Fellers

John Pressley "J.P." Fellers, Jr., 85, of Prosperity, widower of Shirley Bowers Fellers, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Pruitt Health Blythewood.

Born on May 25, 1935, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late John Pressley Fellers, Sr. and Claudia Harmon Fellers. He served in the South Carolina National Guard and was retired after over 40 years with Matthews Auto Service. Mr. Fellers was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where he had served on the Administrative Council, as a Trustee, and was a member of the Men's Club.

He is survived by sons, Dean Wesley Fellers and Gene Pressley Fellers both of Prosperity and a sister, Cedalia Stevens of Newberry. Mr. Fellers was predeceased by sisters, Phyllis Hicklin and Faye Shealy and brothers, Lyon Fellers, Hugh Fellers, Richard Fellers and George Fellers.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 12, 2021, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. R.T. Bowling. The family will visit with family and friends at the graveside following the service. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.
