Joseph H. Horne

Joseph Henry Horne, 68, of Newberry, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Ascension Hospice House.

Born on September 4, 1941 in Atlanta, GA, he was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson Horne, Sr. and Eubie Mae White Horne. He was retired from the S.C. School Bus System and was a former member of the S.C. State Guard. Mr. Horne was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Senn Horne; a son, Joseph J. (Mary Catherine) Horne of Chapin; a daughter, Tracey H. (Harvey) Wise of Newberry; sisters, Becky Goedtke of Stone Mountain, GA, Gail Samples of Carrollton, GA and Frances Hornsby of Loganville, GA; brothers, Thomas J. Horne, Jr. and Charles Everett Horne both of Doraville, GA, Curtis Horne of Snellville, GA and W.A. Horne of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jillian Wise and Mason Wise.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dr. Harry Workman. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
