Josephine Jenkins

Josephine “Jo” Irene Taylor Jenkins, 61, of Chappells, died Monday, November 15, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 1, 1949, in Jackson, MI, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Taylor and Maxine Foster Roland. She was a former truck driver and a member of the Chappells Fire and Rescue Department.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Jenkins, Jr.; sons, James Jenkins of Irmo and William Newman of Laurens; a daughter, Billie Jo Newman Edgins of Chappells; several foster and adopted children; a sister, Patty Taylor of Jackson, MI; a brother, Michael Taylor of Leslie, MI; step-mother, Elaine Taylor of Jackson, MI; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jenkins was predeceased by a brother, Curtis Howse.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Chappells Fire Department. Memorials may be made to the Chappells Fire Department.
