Josephine Leitzsey Cumalander, 84, of Little Mountain, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Josephine “JoJo” was born on October 19, 1930 in Pomaria to the late William and Lee Kinard Leitzsey. She was married for 37 years to the late Bunyan “Bunk” Cumalander. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose love of her Lord guided her life. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She participated in the Happy Mountaineers, Cooper Fuller Sisters in Christ Circle, taught Sunday School and was a youth leader. She also assisted at the Holy Trinity Preschool. JoJo was retired from General Electric. She served on the Little Mountain Reunion Committee, delivered Meals on Wheels, coordinated Red Cross blood drives and loved the outdoors, cooking, her garden and canning. She loved sharing her baked and canned goods with everyone.

She is survived by her son, Fred Cumalander (Linda Richardson); daughter, Bobbie King (Maxton); granddaughters, Brandy Frick (Dave), Erica Billingsley, Jessica Lindler (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Josie, Wes, Houston, Joanie Leigh, Keaton, Eli and Knowlton; sister, Carolyn Richardson (Jerry). She was predeceased by her son, Earl Cumalander, sisters, Mary Wicker, Una Graham and brothers, Ray and Hugh Leitzsey.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, March 20, 2015, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brett Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Trinity Life Center. The family will be at her home. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund, PO Box 186, Little Mountain, SC 29075 or to the Little Mountain Rescue Squad, PO Box 8, Little Mountain, SC 29075.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Chapman, Bart Cumalander, Ray Cumalander, Ronnie Leitzsey, Josh Long, Craig Perry, and Barry Richardson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Happy Mountaineers and Cooper Fuller Sisters in Christ Circle.
