Joyce Bedenbaugh Murray

Joyce Lever Bedenbaugh Murray, 82, of Newberry, died Friday, April 9, 2021, at her residence.

Born on May 24, 1938, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Ollie and Margie Boggs Lever. She was a member of Bible Baptist of Simpsonville. She loved her family very much and enjoyed her pen pals from all of the U.S.

She is survived by her husband, James Murray, Jr. of Newberry; daughters, Judy (Gary) Seibert of Prosperity and Carla (Michael) Ammons of Newberry; sisters, Patsy Lollis of Fountain Inn and Brenda Hubbard of Newberry; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bedenbaugh was predeceased by her first spouse, Hawkins “Shorty” Bedenbaugh and brothers, Jimmy Lever and Wayne Lever.

Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Monday, April 12, 2021, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Clayton Long. Memorials may be made to the Newberry College Football Stadium Fund, 2100 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108.  For those desiring you may stop by the funeral home on Sunday between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm to view Mrs. Murray and sign the register book.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Chapman, Matt Rhine, Dacin Lever, Mark Lever, Jeff Lever and Spanky Seibert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Hiller, Linda Lida and Tylaine Guarriello.

The family appreciates the love and care given this past year by her baby sister, Brenda. They would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Alan Paysinger, Dr. Tom Bradberry, Kindred Home Health and MSA Hospice.
