Joyce W. Attaway

Joyce Lee Wilson Attaway, 87, of Newberry, widow of Richard Melvin Attaway, died Monday, February 10, 2020 at her residence.

Born on November 24, 1932 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Odell James and Genola Bailey Wilson. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She was previously involved with the Fire Departments Ladies Auxillary.

Mrs. Attaway is survived by sons, Richard “Ricky” (Allyson Lea) Attaway of Newberry and Lee (Tina) Attaway of Little Mountain; a daughter, Sally (Ruffus) Lowman of Newberry; six grandchildren and 4 ½ great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Newberry Ballet Guild, PO Box 942, Newberry, SC 29108, the SC Firefighters Association, PO Box 211725, Columbia, SC 29210, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 186, Little Mountain, SC 29075 or to Crosspoint Church, 1523 Trent Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
