Joyce W. Shealy

Joyce Wicker Shealy, 74, of Prosperity, died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at her home.

Born on February 13, 1947, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Edwin and Margaret Boozer Wicker. She worked for State Farm Insurance from 1984 – 1993 at which time she went into business for herself as a florist. She ran the House of Flowers Florist from 1993 – 2006. From 2006 to the present she was working with George Piersol State Farm Insurance. Mrs. Shealy was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gene Kenneth Shealy I; a son, Gene Kenneth “Kenny” Shealy II; granddaughters, Chesney Kendal Shealy and McKenna Aryne Shealy; a God Son, Marion Daniel “Danny” Maw II and three special young boys, Cooper Elizah Piersol and Peyton Lee Piersol and Tristan Piersol. She was predeceased by a brother, Jerry Lee Wicker.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry Amick. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 am at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Philip's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 2461 St. Philip's Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
