Judith S. Worthy

Judith Stevens Worthy, 71, of Whitmire, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at her residence.

Born on April 4, 1943, in Joanna, she was a daughter of the late Homer George and Josephine Louise Weathers Stevens. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, retired the Laurens County Special Needs and Disabilities and was a member of Queens Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Worthy was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, Newberry Lodge #1547 where she served as chaplin.

She is survived by her husband, L. Aaron Worthy; daughters, Deadria (Derry) D. Hawkins of Prosperity, Sherry C. Burbage and Tabitha J. Lambert both of Whitmire; a step-daughter, Susan W. (Kris) Blumish of Indian Trail, NC; a sister, Nancy L. (Henry) Amick of Prosperity; grandchildren, Brandy J. Hawkins, Justin M. Lambert, Kahla M. Lambert, Jessy Burbage and Colt Burbagh; a great-grandson, Jordan S. Amick and a niece, Sandy Senn of Prosperity.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Queens Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. David Torrey. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Queens Memorial Presbyterian Church, 46 Queens Loop Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
