Judy Heflin

Judith Elaine Hughey Heflin, 65, of Newberry, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on September 23, 1949, in Union, she was a daughter of Doris Greene Hughey and the late Hiram Hughey. She had worked at the I-26 Shell Station and was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Heflin is survived in addition to her mother, Doris Hughey of Clinton by sons, Timothy Franklin (Sharon) and Jeffrey Dean both of Newberry and Michael Dean (Sarah) of Easley; a step-daughter, Katrina (Will) Heflin Bouknight of Newberry; sisters, Mabel (Martin) Boozer of Joanna, Patty (Thomas) Meeks and Jacki (Andy) Ellis both of Clinton; a special niece, Kim Petty; brother-in-law, Earl Cabaniss; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild and many friends. Mrs. Heflin was predeceased by two husbands, Tommy Franklin and Richard Heflin and sisters, Martha Ann Hazel and Nancy Cabaniss.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Glenn Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Whitesides. Memorials may be made to Glenn Street Baptist Church, 300 Glenn Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
