Junius Cloyd Chapman, 87, of Prosperity, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Providence Hospital.
Born on September 29, 1927, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late William Walter and Annie Lee Mayer Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a graduate of Little Mountain High School and was an Army veteran during the Korean War. He retired from working in the public sector but never retired from farming and truly enjoyed planting and working in his garden every year. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Prosperity.
He is survived by his children: sons, Tony Chapman (Pam) and Carey “Casey” Chapman (Ann); daughter, Belva Beck; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Reba Elizabeth Bowers Chapman, brothers, Andrew, Waldo and Loyd Chapman and sister, Mary Annie McDaniel.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Taylor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church for the church's love and support over the years, 80 Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pallbearers will be Louie Chapman, Allen Chapman, Kelvin Chapman, Kenneth Chapman, Rodney Chapman, Doug Bowers, Mark Bowers and George Bowers.
