Katherine McLeod

Katherine Holsonback McLeod, 87, widow of James C. McLeod, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at her residence.

Born on October 16, 1931 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Willie Elliott and Mary Elsie Attaway Holsonback. She was retired from Shakespeare and was a member of Hunt Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by her children, Deborah McLeod of Lexington, Nancy Key of Mauldin and Bryan J. McLeod of Newberry; a sister, Margaret Timmerman of Aiken; 8 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Willie Clifton “Bud” Holsonback.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Timmerman. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 – 2:30 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Suite 301, Cayce, SC 29033 or the charity of one's choice.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Millstead, Jr., Daren Millstead, Allan McDaniel, Kris McLeod, Brad McDaniel and Joey McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kayce (Brian) Shealy, Leann (Tom) Deloach, Treva Millstead, Averie Millstead, Andrea McDaniel and nieces and nephews.
