Kathryn Wicker

Kathryn Bowers Wicker, 91, of Little Mountain, widow of Walter Eugene Wicker, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at White Oak Manor.

Born on October 1, 1919, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Brabham and Julia Shealy Bowers. Mrs. Wicker was retired from GE of Irmo, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Mountaineers.

She is survived by a son, Derrill (Martha Jo) Wicker of Little Mountain; a sister, Betty Haltiwanger of Newberry; a daughter-in-law, Eleanor Wicker of West Columbia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Larry Wicker and Eddie Wicker, sisters, Mary Lizzie Boland and Mildred Hentz and brothers, Carl Bowers, Hubert Bowers, and Robert Bowers.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers: Jason Wicker, Matthew Wicker, Robbie Hentz, Edwin Hentz, Donald Bowers and Jerry Haltiwanger.
