Kay Hieatt

Sharon Kay Hieatt, 60, of Prosperity, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on March 26, 1952 in Columbia, she was the daughter of Maggie Winburn Thomas and the late Robert L. Thomas. She was employed by Lexington Medical Center and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hieatt is survived in addition to her mother, Maggie Thomas of Columbia by her husband, David L. Hieatt; daughters, Paula (Michael) Bush of Lexington and Melissa (Eric) Hess of TN; sons, Kevin (Leigh) Hieatt and Brian (Davina) Hieatt both of VA; brothers, James L. (Teresa) Thomas and William “Mike” Thomas both of Columbia; special niece, Elizabeth (John) Weddington of Orangeburg, eleven grandchildren, niece, Rebekah (Danny) Garbett, nephew, Brett Thomas and great nephew, Carter Garbett. Mrs. Hieatt was predeceased by a grandson, Grayson Hoops and a great-niece, Elianna G. Weddington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Kierstead. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Vacation Bible School at Bethel Baptist Church, 2503 Bethel Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Helen Beebe, 181 Tailers Trail, Leesville, SC 29070.

Active pallbearers will be Deacons of Bethel Baptist Church.
