Kenneth Charles Lake, 67, of Newberry, died December 1, 2016 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on August 27, 1949, in Newberry, he was a the son of the late Charles J. and Evelyn Kunkle Lake. He retired from International Paper in Silverstreet. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where he was a former church councilman. Kenneth was known for his cooking. He enjoyed cooking for his family, his friends and for events in the community.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Lindler Lake; sons, Edwin Lake (Regina) of Atlanta, and Ben Lake of Newberry; sisters, Beverly Bowers of Prosperity and Laura Reames (David) of Kingsport, TN; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Willie Mae Lindler of Pomaria; 3 grandchildren, Carrie Madelyn, Charles Mattison, and Cooper Manning Lake.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to Prosperity Rescue Squad, PO Box 145, Prosperity, SC 29127.
Active pall bearers will be Carroll Lester, Johnny Meeks, James J. Morris, Daniel Werts, Gregg Bowers, Chip Lake, Jason Black, Kevin Brehmer and Dean Kunkle.
