Kimberly Elizabeth Pollard, 38, of Columbia, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born on July 2, 1977, in Greenwood, she was the daughter of John E. Pollard and the late JoAnn Pitts Pollard. She worked for Tri County Hospice as a marketing director and was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church where she served on the Pastor Parrish Relations Committee. She was the founder of the Richland County Sheriff's Department Life Scripts Emergency Information and currently serving as a Board Member of the Adam Turner Foundation. She also was on the National Brain Tumor Foundation, the Parrots Pals Foundation of Greenville, the Tug McGraw Foundation and the St. Baldrick's Foundation
Kim was involved with the March for Babies Walk America,Senior Care Professionals of the Midlands, the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. She was a member of the Pawmetto Lifeline, a founding member of the Pearlz Table 2 and a member of the St. Lawrence Place.
As a member of the Alzheimer's Association of the Midlands she served on the Dancing With the Stars Gala Committee in 2012, the Walking Committee in 2013 and Blondes vs Brunettes Committee of 2014. She served on the Cancer of Many Colors Committee in 2012 and 2013 for the Lexington Medical Center Foundation. Kim served as the Gala Communications Committee Chair for the Children's Trust of South Carolina from 2013 to the present. She served on the South Carolina Oncology Cares Foundation Fight Like a Girl Committee in 2011 and from 2012 to the present on the SCOA Cares Annual Golf Tournament Committee. She also served on the 2012 Walk Committee and the 2013 Gala Committee for the ALS Association of the Midlands.
She is survived by her father, John Pollard of Newberry; a special friend, Corey Price and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 30, 2015, at Trenholm Road United Methodist Church to be officiated by Rev. Mike Smith and Rev. Wayne Horne. Committal services will be at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery to officiated by Rev. Ken Carter. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Trenholm Road United Methodist Church, 3401 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29204, Trinity United Methodist Church, 1167 Trinity Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the charity of one's choice.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Pitts, Billy Pitts, Robbie Lominick, Josh Garrett, Scott Garrett, Guy Pollard and Drew Pollard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Dodson, John Stackhouse, Lantz Cox, Aaron Green, Trey Spigner, Kevin Kamphouse, Rick Addy, Wes Page, Brent Franks, Michael Hughes, Brett Serbin, Mike Evans, Brian Milbourne and Kevin Rose.
