Kristen “Kristy” Bond Frye, née Brigham, 59 of Mouthcard, KY passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at her residence.
Kristen was born January 6, 1965 in Atlanta, GA to the late Harry David Brigham and Benny Lou “Blue” Carlton Brigham.
Kristy was born in Georgia, but grew up in Boone, North Carolina. She is a part of Watauga County High School’s class of 1983. She later attended Appalachian State University and worked as a bookkeeper until dedicating her life full-time as a mother to her son Trevor and wife of Dave. Kristy loved nature, the beach, and especially the mountains. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially old family recipes. She was a true compassionate animal lover who cared for her many pets throughout her life including horses, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and birds.... including some stray or abandoned animals. Kristy's warmth, laughter, and dry wit left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is leaving behind a legacy of love that will be remembered by us all. She is so missed. May she rest in peace.
Kristen is survived by her husband, David Allen Frye and son, Trevor Courtland Frantzis, both of Mouthcard, KY; step-daughter, Rachael Browning of Man, WV; and two grandchildren, Cooper Browning and Chaelstine Moore. She is also survived by siblings, Laura Brigham (Charles) Bice of Richmond, VA, Steve (Krishni DeThabrew) Brigham of Englewood Cliffs, NJ and Amy Krontz, née Brigham, of Toledo, OH.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 5-9 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Elkhorn City, KY, with a service to begin at 6 pm. Kristen will be buried beside her parents Harry and “Blue” Brigham and between her grandparents, Vernon Courtney Carlton, Sr. and Laura Gladys Havird Carlton in Newberry, SC at Rosemont Cemetery, Newberry, SC on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at an interment of ashes service officiated by The Reverend Matthew Titus, Pastor of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer of Newberry, SC.
