Kyle Melvin Longshore, 49, of Greenville died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at his residence.
Born on April 14, 1973 in Columbia, he was the son of Melvin Larry Longshore and Joan Hunter Longshore.
Kyle was a 1991 graduate of Newberry High School where he played both football and baseball. He attended Clemson University, Winthrop University and earned an Associate Degree from Piedmont Technical College. He was employed by the SYNNEX Corporation in Greenville and was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church. Kyle was a sports fanatic. After high school, he was a member of the Little Rascals Softball Team. He loved the Clemson Tigers with a passion, and would go see them play as often as he could. Kyle loved his friends and family dearly.
He is survived by his mother, Joan Hunter Longshore of Silverstreet; his father and step-mother, Melvin Larry and Peggy Longshore of Pomaria; a sister, Melissa Humphries and her husband, Stan of Silverstreet; a brother, Eric Longshore of Newberry; an uncle, Harry Longshore of Newberry; nieces, Amber Humphries Bobo and her husband, Tony, Bailey Humphries, Delaney Humphries, and Sullivan Longshore; a great-nephew, Ben Bobo, his canine companion, Mia, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Burial will follow in the Silverstreet Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service. Memorials may be made to the Project Hope Foundation, 2131 Woodruff Road, Suite 2100-358, Greenville, SC 29607.
Active pall bearers will be Russell Templeton, Dane Hunter, Jeff Guy, Derrick Brown, Chris Hansen, Todd Richard, Chris Hunter, and Craig Goston.
Honorary pall bearers will be members of the Little Rascals Softball Team and his former coaches at Newberry High School.
