Leroy Strickland

Leroy Strickland, 68, of Pomaria, died Monday, January 1, 2018, at his residence.

Born on February 19, 1949, in Florence, he was a son of the late Floyd and Grace Watson Strickland. He was retired from industrial construction. Mr. Strickland was a member of Still Water Baptist Church in Leesville and was a Gideon and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise Aderholt Strickland; a son, Kenny (Nicky) Strickland Todd of Hallsboro, NC; daughters, Lisa (William) McDonald of Greenville, Charlotte (Jamie) Amick and Carol Ann (Gabe) Zeigler both of Chapin, Becky Faircloth of Pomaria, Regina Bacon and Dale Rose both of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Carolyn Martin of Mocksville, NC; brothers, Franklin Strickland of Hallsboro, NC, Gary Strickland of TX, and Floyd Strickland, Jr. of Lexington; seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Geneva Dixon, Randy Strickland and Paul Strickland.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2017 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Phillip Vause. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Jamie Amick, Gracie Amick, William McDonald, Matthew McDonald, Gabe Zeigler, Gary Wayne Strickland, Peyton Hill and Dalton Amick.
