Lewis F. Sligh, 73, of Prosperity died August 14, 2009 at his residence.
Born in Silverstreet on August 14, 1936, he was a son of the late Thomas Claude and Elizabeth Waters Sligh. He served in the South Carolina Army National Guard and was retired from General Electric. He was a member of Colony Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ola Kneece Sligh; sons, Chris Sligh of Palm Coast, FL., and Robert Kneece of Prosperity; daughters, Tammy Marion Sligh and Nelva Deloris Dilworth both of GA; sisters, Audrey Agnew, Marion Bowers and Margaret Shealy; brothers Claude Sligh and Ray Sligh; grandchildren, Erika Marie Smith, Evan Randall Steele, Christopher Lewis Sligh, Thomas Sligh, Sammy Dilworth, Brittney Elizabeth Koon, Alexis Shaw, Joseph Shaw, and Richard Sligh.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, August 17, 2009, at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
