Lois Elizabeth Wicker Kibler, 87, of Newberry, widow of J. Paul Kibler, died Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 2, 1923, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late James T. Wicker, Sr. and Alliene Free Wicker. Mrs. Kibler worked for Carter & Holmes Florist and Anderson Shoe’s and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of WELCA, the Adult B Sunday School Class, a former Sunday School Teacher and for 20 years acknowledged the memorials and honorariums. She and her husband were the Youth Leaders for Luther League for 25 years and was a member of Woodmen of the World.
Mrs. Kibler is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Billy Bedenbaugh of Newberry; a sister, Faiery Kinard of Prosperity; a brother, James T. Wicker, Jr. of Newberry; grandchildren, Laura Bedenbaugh and Hannon (Deena) Bedenbaugh both of Newberry; sister-in-law, Rainey Kibler of Prosperity and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jeanie Rawls.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 2461 St. Philip’s Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
