Bonnie Loretta Stoudemayer Canon, 77, of Forest, Virginia, died October 18, 2016 at her home in Peak, South Carolina.

Born on May 4, 1939 in Peak, she was a daughter of the late George and Bessie Lee Epting Stoudemayer. She was a 1957 graduate of Irmo High School and attended Winthrop College. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church in Peak. She loved teaching preschool at Roswell First Baptist Church in Roswell, GA . Mrs. Canon also enjoyed working with Lynchburg Florist and Antiques in Lynchburg, Virginia. She loved flower gardens and traveling to different parts of the world with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Canon; a son, Eddie Canon (Susan) of Cumming, GA; daughters, Bonnie Rary (Stephen) of Suwanee, GA, and Beth Monroe (Brian) of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren, Katie Canon Detchemendy (Abe), George Monroe, Dustin Canon, Spencer Monroe, Stephanie Rary, Melissa Rary, and Jack Monroe; a great-grandson, Lawson Edward Detchemendy; sister-in-laws, Eleanor Stoudemayer, Barbara Stoudemayer, Betty Craft, Carolyn Koffman (John) and Suellyn Smith.; a brother-in-law, Barry Smith; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Gerald Stoudemayer and Raynold Stoudemayer; and by a sister, Sandra Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Peak Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, building fund, P.O. Box 9, Peak, SC 29122.
