Lynn Ruff

Lynn Livingston Ruff, 74, of Newberry, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on February 18, 1936, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Horace A. and Essie Long Livingston. Mrs. Ruff was a homemaker and worked with the Girl Scouts. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU, taught Vacation Bible School and participated in a number of mission trips. She was a member of the Reedy River Baptist Association and formerly worked with the Farm Bureau of Newberry County Women's Association.

Surviving is her husband, Odell Ruff; children, Kenny Ruff of Tega Cay, Pam and Greg Culbertson of Newberry and Dell and Melanie Ruff of Richmond Hill, GA; special daughter, Becky Ruff of Newberry; grandchildren, Josh, Callie, Anna, Ben and Natashia Ruff; brothers, Felix Livingston and Virgil (Ann) Livingston both of Pomaria; sisters, Llewella Fulmer of Pomaria, Frances (Eugene) Fulmer of Marion and Magdaline (Jim) Rikard of Saluda; a number of nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law. Mrs. Ruff was predeceased by brothers, Asbury, Leander and David Livingston and a sister, Florence Haltiwanger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Mission Projects Fund, 1020 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
