Madge Floyd Littlejohn, 84, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Dillon Pointe in Spartanburg.

Born on October 10, 1927, in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Dr. Thomas Chlingman Littlejohn, Jr. and the daughter of the late Novella Floyd. She had lived in Nashville, TN and Newberry, SC prior to returning to Gaffney in her later years. Mrs. Littlejohn was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from AT&T and was a long-time and devoted member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a past member of the Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors; past president of the South Carolina Medical Association Auxiliary where she started the Health Education Van; past president of the Newberry Medical Association Auxiliary; past president of the Newberry Garden Club and past president of the Welcome Wagon in Tennessee.

Surviving are daughters, Debra Kay Littlejohn, an attorney of Hanahan, SC and Christie Littlejohn Morse, a physician, and her husband, Richard, of Hanover, New Hampshire; grandsons, Christopher Thomas Morse and Jonathan Richard Morse. In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by an aunt, Minnie Floyd, a brother-in-law, Joseph Alexander Littlejohn and her in-laws, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Chlingman Littlejohn, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 a Southside Baptist Church in Gaffney. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O’Neal Street, Gaffney, SC 29340. The family will be at the residence, 330 Thompson Street, Gaffney.
