Magdalene Livingston Rikard, 85, of Batesburg, widow of James William Rikard, died Saturday, April 5, 2025 at White Oak Manor in Newberry.
Born on December 12, 1939 in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Horace A. and Essie Long Livingston. She retired form the J.B. Martin Company after nearly 40 years of service. Mrs. Rikard was a devoted member of Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and the church Secretary and Treasurer for many years. She enjoyed crafts, working in her yard, and puzzle books. Mrs. Rikard played and coached softball for many years.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Rikard of Batesburg and Julie Rikard of Pomaria; a sister, Llewella Fulmer of Pomaria; a brother, Virgil (Ann) Livingston of Pomaria; and a sister-in-law, Diane Livingston of Pomaria.
She was predeceased by sisters, Florence Haltiwanger, Frances Fulmer, and Lynn Ruff; and brothers, Felix Livingston, Asbury Livingston, Jr., Leander Livingston, and David Livingston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church by the Rev. Tony Curcio. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Carl Fulmer, Herman Odell Fulmer, Jr., Patrick Fulmer, Will Fulmer, Todd Lever, and Russell Shealy.
