Mamie Alice Farr

Mrs. Mamie Alice Lipscomb Farr, 86, of Belmont, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.

She was born on October 29, 1936, in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Jasper William Garnett and Annie Kesterson Garnett.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John “Sam” Farr, her sister, Drucella Kauke, and her brothers, William Garnett, Bruce Garnett, Walter Garnett, and Homer Garnett.

Mrs. Farr is survived by her sons, Joe Farr (Joanie), Lake Wylie, South Carolina, and Billy Farr, Belmont, North Carolina, her grandchildren, Jacob Farr (Brittany) and Emily Farr Wingard (Michael), her great-grandchildren, Samuel Farr, Jovie Farr, and Witson Farr, and her sisters, Lavone Coats and Donna Davenport.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, SC.  Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Road, Gastonia, NC.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
