Margaret Ashford

Margaret A. Ashford, 91, of Newberry, widow of Marion Ashford, died Friday, November 8, 2013, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on December 31, 1921 in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Carrie Cromer Adams. She was a retired beautician. Mrs. Ashford was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church in Union.

She is survived by sisters, Janie Nichols and Frances Waits both of Newberry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Counts. Burial will follow in Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1105 First Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
