Margaret Kern Lominack, 88, of Newberry, widow of William Frank Lominack, Jr., died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on May 15, 1921, in Clinton, she was a daughter of the late Samuel P. and Blanche Riddle Kern. Mrs. Lominack was a graduate of Lander College. She was a homemaker and also worked alongside of her husband at Frank Lominack Hardware Store in her later years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of Circle 5; she was a former member of The Fine Arts Club, she enjoyed playing Bridge, and loved flowers and working in her yard; she also love reading and music. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, William Frank Lominack III and his wife Linda of Prosperity; daughters, Margaret Lominack “Peggy” Epps and her husband Mike of Newberry, and Lynn Lominack Parnell of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Michael Epps, Marie Epps-Nobles and her husband Jarad, Erin Porter and her husband Toby, and Kennedy Parnell. She was predeceased by a sister Agnes Kern Harrison.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Karen Radcliffe and the Rev. Dr. John Miller. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family is at her residence, 1129 Hunt Street where they will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, Vacation Bible School, P.O. 67, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the Newberry Opera House, PO Box 357, Newberry, SC 29108.

The family would like to thank the staff of J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home for their love and care during her illness.
