Marianne S. Ruff

Marianne Stuck Ruff, 64, of Pomaria, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at her residence.

Born on September 27, 1953, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Edwin and Merlee Epting Stuck. She was a 1971 graduate of Mid Carolina High School and was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church where she served on the Golden Agers Committee and helped with Vacation Bible School for many years. Marianne loved her dogs, working in her yard with flowers and watching birds and was an avid Clemson fan.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Randy C. Ruff; sons, Travis Odin (Betty) Dover and Joshua Leo Ruff both of Pomaria and Derek Randall (Allison) Ruff of Lexington; a daughter, Haley Ruff (Chad) Oates of Acworth, GA; sisters, Lisa (Tim) Traylor and Amy (Mark) Shealy both of Pomaria; a brother, Kenny “Buck” (Leslie) Stuck of Pomaria; grandchildren, Justin and Johnny Dover; mother-in-law, Mary Ruff; and a special sister-in-law, Sandy Ruff.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church by the Rev. Steven Jackson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 170, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Ruff, Brian Blanchard, Blake Stuck, Jaye Stuck, Cole Shealy and Jacob Shealy.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her special caregiver, Tess Mendenhall, the staff of Crescent Hospice and the Newberry County Memorial Hospital Oncology Department.
