Marie Longshore

Marie Stribble Longshore, 96, of Newberry, widow of Edward Woodrow Longshore, died Sunday, January 9, 2011, at White Oak Manor.

Born on May 14, 1914, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Paul Washington and Martha Lavenia Bundrick Stribble. Mrs. Longshore was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ezell Bible Class and Circle 6.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Stribble Longshore and Lisa Lominack Longshore; grandchildren, Ashley Longshore Taylor and Edward Woodrow Longshore II; great-granddaughters, Arrington Elisabeth Taylor and Catherine Cannon Taylor and a brother-in-law, Robert Sheppard Whitener. Mrs. Longshore was predeceased by her siblings, Herbert Stribble, Bryant Stribble, Clifford Stribble, Zula Fuller, Norma Smith, Jimmie Pruitt, Ruth Whitener and Maggie Rayfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2011, at Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Karen Radcliffe. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of her son, 1704 Johnstone Street, Newberry, SC where they will receive friends.
