Marie Collier Nobles, 84, of Newberry, widow of William H. "Boochie" Nobles, died Monday, October 29, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland.
Born on September 24, 1934, in Black Mountain, NC, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Ruth Pace Collier. She was retired from the Newberry County School System and was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Nobles is survived by her companion, Hollis Harmon; a daughter, Marcia Nobles (Rick) Dobson of Inman; a son, Michael L. (Kelly) Nobles of Newberry; sisters, Barbara Stribble, Billie Sue Kennedy and Lynda Mack all of Newberry and Sandra Riley of Sumter; brothers, Tony Collier of Whitmire and Carl Collier of Gray Court; grandchildren, Corey Dobson, Brad Dobson, Kaitlyn Nobles and Will Nobles and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Ethel Heaton, Peggy Derrick, Jean Rogers, Althea West, Luther Collier, Cecil Collier, Leonard Collier, Jerry Collier and Randy Collier.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Counts. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1105 First Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Corey Dobson, Brad Dobson, Will Nobles, Jared Harmon, Jesse Harmon and Brent Stribble.
