Marion Spearman

Marion Fay Reese Spearman of Chappells passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Springfield Place, Newberry, SC.

She was born on January 15, 1925 in Pomaria, SC, the daughter of the late John Henry and Pearl Thelma Berley Reese. She was married for 61 years to the late William Elbert “Buddy” Spearman, Jr. of Chappells.

A long time active member of Chappells Baptist Church, she served the Lord through her love and care for family, friends and, community. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, William E. “Bill” Spearman III (Molly) of Saluda, SC and Lewis Benjamin Spearman (Sharon) of North, SC; grandchildren, William Mitchell Spearman, Katie S. Cornwell (Lee), Louis Barrett Spearman, and Katelyn Alissa Spearman; great-granddaughter, Molly Brooke Brackett Cornwell; sisters, Virginia Porter (Wayne) of Pembroke, GA, Ruth Stoudemire (Bobby) of Greenwood, SC, Peggy Longshore (Larry) of Pomaria, SC and Carolyn Lancaster of Newberry, SC; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Reese of Newberry, SC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings, Elizabeth Reese, Mary Felder, John A. Reese, Nancy Bowers, Gussie Raines and a grandson, John Franklin Spearman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Chappells Baptist Church, Hwy 39, Chappells, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm and following the service. Memorials may be made to Chappells Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1454 SC Highway 39, Chappells, SC 29037.
